Michael Schmoll studied piano, music theory and ear training at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold. From 1991 to 2001 he was professor of music theory at the Mannheim University of Music. Since 2001 he has been professor of music theory at the Institute of Music at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. He is the composer of numerous choral works as well as musicals for children, young people and church congregations, which he offers for download on his homepage www.schmoll-musik.de. Michael Schmoll was chairman of the music committee in the NRW choir association, directs a large number of choirs and is spiritus rector of the children’s singing promotion project “Toni singt… “. In 1993 he founded the Dümmer See Music Academy. His five-volume School of Aural Training has been published by AMA Verlag.
